dear '70 grads: i'm on the retirement committee and helping to plan this
event is alot of fun. i'll do my best to have as many of your teachers there as possible for you. sponsoring drill team and teaching tennis to so many of you was very rewarding, and i'd love to see you at the reunion. better yet, come to our meetings and help us plan your own event.

As I told Valerie from the very outset, since I'm assisting her track down some missing classmates, out of state classmates and those who may not have had chances to previously attend reunions....many of us DON'T have the luxury of getting away from our jobs during this "fiscal" time of year so I see my chances of attending this event down from 55% to 25% with the June change from July; on the other hand, with less than 50% survey respondents of those surveys mailed having been received and date surveys having been handled this early on, I doubt I will be the only out-of-state alum who will have to bail out of this. (Airfare travel rates peak out during the June-July-Aug months and who in the world would want to travel to L.A. at the peak of drought, wild fires and hot temps?) On the other hand, had there been more mobilization to schedule THIS reunion in the Fall (early to mid October or late Sept), my attendance propensity would have shot up to 80%. Those of us who work in professional positions whose fiscal schedule revolves entirely around a mandated presence from late April through late July do not have this luxury. This is why I also had to miss the 30th reunion....at our 40th reunion (those with kids), there shouldn't be the young children's schedules we had to contend with during the 10th, 20th and maybe 30th. It would have been democratic, for a change, to entertain a different season for the 40th reunion. Just for a change.

"Thoroughly Modern Millie" is Thoroughly Amazing!

The 1967 American musical film starring legendary Julie Andrews was adapted to the stage and the Hollywood High School's opening night yesterday was nothing short of amazing and I've seen many Broadway plays. This was good, really and truly great actually. Except for the fact that middle-aged characters were being portrayed by…See More
