CLASS OF 1970 -- MORE INFO ON THE 2ND REUNION COMTE MTG SEPTEMBER 20th!

The second meeting of the Class of 1970 Reunion Planning Comte will be held on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 20th, from 5-7P (please contact Valerie Gumbiner Weiss at valkgw@yahoo.com for more details) to discuss options to the tentative date of July 24th, reunion venue ideas, volunteers to recruit for various task-team efforts needed to locate missing classmates, assist with location scouting and negotiations, catering, photography/videography, music and other ideas.

For this reason, as well as to entice Class of 1970 alums to register on hhsalum.org to be invited to enter the class comment board, the opportunity has been created for classmates anticipating their 40th reunion to provide input, suggestions and (hopefully) also take the initiative to volunteer to help implement suggestions by turning the event into one of the most enjoyable of any reunion ever attended to date!

Please encourage fellow classmates from Winter or Summer 1970 who may not be aware of the hhsalum.org site to register and to weigh in with ideas (and the professional roles they might be able to play as team task force volunteers to help implement and actualize such suggestions) about reunion dates, venue ideas (within a 5-15 mile radius of the school, if possible), catering, music, photography/videography, etc. The goal here is to try to offset the expenses during this climate of hiring an outside reunion company which would most assuredly raise per person and guest attendance costs when alumni members who have inroads into any of those areas could perhaps help us with negotiations once the committee gets the chance to survey/poll the comments, ideas and suggestions posted on our class comment board. I've proceeded by starting the first of what I hope will be many discussions on the Class of 1970 comment board (head to Community, click on Groups, select Class of 1970 to be invited to join) for the purpose of starting the discussion thread on proposing 3 other alternate dates -- vote on the most "doable" of these -- tied into the reality that many of us work in professional roles which do prevent us from being able to take the necessary time to fly to California from whereever to participate in a reunion, never mind what number that reunion is.

Venue, catering, photography/videography, music (DJ or old fashioned jukebox or -- ??) and an evening "feature" event or contest (such as an Auction held with the winner lunching with an unannounced faculty member of our time period at HHS or some such) -- your constructive suggestions are welcomed on the class comment board. Hope to hear from you there!

Thanks

"Thoroughly Modern Millie" is Thoroughly Amazing!

The 1967 American musical film starring legendary Julie Andrews was adapted to the stage and the Hollywood High School's opening night yesterday was nothing short of amazing and I've seen many Broadway plays. This was good, really and truly great actually. Except for the fact that middle-aged characters were being portrayed by…See More
