Frances "Fran" Lockwood, 83, of Palm Springs California, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010 peacefully in her home. She was born July 21, 1926 to Eugene and Frances Stewart in Pine Bluff Arkansas . She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, George Stewart. She is survived by her Husband of 65 years, Ray Lockwood, Daughter Sandie Lockwood Ethridge of Claremont California, two sons, Dean Lockwood of Palm Springs California, and Kevin Lockwood of Morongo Valley California. She left two grand children, and Leslie Nieder of New Orleans, Louisiana and Brian Ethridge of Claremont California and two great grand children Damien Neider and Ruby Neider, both of New Orleans, Louisiana. She is also survived by her sister Mary Selby of Austin Texas.

Fran was a tireless community volunteer, providing her services to the Pathfinders, Desert Hospital Auxiliary, the Kiwanis Club of Palm Springs, and the Kraft Nabisco Championship golf tournament. Services will be held Tuesday, July 20 at Forest Lawn, 69855 E. Ramon Road in Cathedral City. More information is available at www.heydean.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Mizell Senior Center, 480 S. Sunrise Way, Palm Springs, CA 92262.
